She was the daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth (Webb) Sisk and married Robert Anderson Ables - 07 Aug 1879 - Lincoln Co., Tennessee. Her obituary follows:
Mrs. Mary Ables, 83, died suddenly at her home at Harms Saturday morning about 11 o'clock, April 26, 1947. She had been in her usual health until about 3 o'clock that morning when she suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and did not regain consciousness. She was the wife of Robert Ables, who died 35 years ago and she had lived in this vicinity almost her entire life. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ, and a splendid neighbor and friend.
The funeral services were held at the Lebanon Church Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, conducted by Eld. R. A. Largen, with burial in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Ables is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Lucy Gatlin of McBurg, Mrs. Mattie Locker of Fayetteville, Mrs. Roscoe Epps, who made her home with Mrs. Ables, and Mrs. Dennie Hill of Nashville; three sons, Thomas Ables, Joe Ables, and R. A. Ables, all of Lincoln County; also, 34 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
