FUNERAL SERVICES FOR JESSE S. PETERSON

Funeral services were held in Neola Tuesday for Jesse S. Peterson who died Sunday in the Roosevelt hospital from complications following an operation for appendicitis. Bishop Lewis E. Allred conducted the services. The ward choir sang, "Come, Come, Ye Saints" "Sometime We'll Understand" and "Oh, My Father" and a male quartet sang "Let Him Come In." The opening prayer by G.B. Workman. The speakers were Wm. K. Dye, Hugh Barnes and Bishop Allred. James T. Woodward offered the benediction. Interment was in the Neola cemetery with Nephi Smithson dedicating the grave. Floral offerings were very beautiful.
Jesse Peterson was born in Cedar Fort, Utah, Feb. 14, 1875, was a son of Mary T. and Peter Peterson. When he was about six years of age his parents moved to Ashley valley and they made that their home until 1905 when they moved to Neola where they made their home since. Jesse Peterson, with his parents and brothers all helped to build up both Ashley valley and the Neola section. In the spring of 1911 he married Minnie Fuell. To this union was born six children, two of which preceeded him to the great beyond. Besides his wife and three daughters, May, Mary and Theda and one son, Jesse Jr., he is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Katurah Merkley, Alice Kone and James O., Dave J., Samuel T. and Henry. A well as many other relatives and friends. All the brothers were present and one sister, Mrs. Merkley.
To the bereaved family we extend our sincere sympathy.
