Note: The newspaper spelled his name Gudeker, but his tombstone has Goedeker.
(Henry did have a son who spelled his own surname Gudeker). The spelling has
been adjusted below.

Henry Goedeker

Henry Goedeker, a resident of the Dornacker school district for around a quarter
of a century, passed away at his home on Saturday morning after an extended
illness. Mr. Goedeker was one of the best known farmers in his vicinity and his
many friends will miss him. He was a great lover of nature and took much pride
in his flowers and it was always a great pleasure to him to work among them. He
was a gentleman in every respect and highly esteemed by those who knew him.

The funeral services were held last Tuesday afternoon from the home. The writer
has known Mr. Goedeker for years and feels that with his passing he has lost a
personal friend.

He is survived by a number of children and grandchildren, some of whom reside on
the old home place.
