Don Pruett

Don Pruett, age 82, of Quincy, died on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 11:07 p.m. in Blessing Hospital.

He was born July 11, 1931 in Knox County, MO, the son of Virgil and Mildred Hathaway Pruett. He married Reba Culp on June 9, 1962. She preceded him in death on June 16, 1986. On April 21, 1989, he married Nellie Carlson in Quincy. She survives.

Don served in the United States Army in Korea. He was employed by Brower Mfg., Electric Wheel, and Titan Wheel, from where he retired on May 1, 1994.

In addition to his wife, survivors include: his daughter, Deborah Pruett of Quincy; his son, Richard Pruett of Quincy; three step children: Larry (Sue) Culp of Decatur, IL; Judith (Rick) Baldwin of Mesa, AZ; and Nancy Nettles of Kansas City, MO; six step grandchildren: Tully (Melinda) Culp of Indianapolis, IN; Justin (Sasha) Culp of Decatur, IL; Scarlett (Darryl) Buchwald of Wheeling, IL; Linda (David) Parker of Cavot, AR; Jackie Nettles of Overland Park, MO; and Michael (Sachiko) Nettles of Des Moines, IA; six step great grandchildren: Jessica Parker of Cavot, AR; Brett (Krysta) Parker of Ft. Stewart, GA; Maxwell and Amberlyn Culp of Indianapolis, IN; and Gracyn and Everleigh Buchwald of Wheeling, IL; and his brother, Kenneth Pruett, St. Charles, MO.

He was preceded in death by a son, Roger Pruett; his parents; and his sister, Carlene Hinton.

Services were 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2014 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Rev. Rod Bakker officiating. Burial was in the Quincy Memorial Park.

Memorials: in lieu of flowers, Blessing Hospice or Shriners' Hospitals for Children.
