US Congressman. Elected to represent Connecticut's 2nd District in the United States House of Representatives, he served from 1869 to 1875. He also served as a Member of the Connecticut State Senate in 1853, State Court Judge in 1854, Member of the Connecticut State House of Representatives in 1856, and as a Delegate to the Republican National Convention from Connecticut in 1868.
