Charles H. Howe
Charles H. Howe, 59, a former resident of the Kennedy Valley community, five miles southwest of Lawrence, died Wednesday in Lubbock, Tex. Graveside services will be at 11 p.m. Saturday at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Evelyn Howe, of the home; three daughters, Merlene, Martha and Maria, all of the home; and a son, Robert Howe of Barnard, Kan.
Rumsey Funeral Home is handling local arrangements. Friends may call at the Rumsey Funeral Home until 10 a. m. Saturday.

Services Set Here For Charles Howe
Rites were set at 1:30 p.m. today in the Amett-Benson Baptist Church here for Charles H. Howe, 60, 2826 Colgate St., who died at 2:27 a.m. Wednesday in Lubbock Osteopathic Hospital following a month's illness.
The Rev. Billy Barber, pastor, was to officiate. The body was to be sent this afternoon by Sanders Funeral Home to Lawrence, Ks, for graveside services and burial, probably Saturday morning.
Howe had lived in Lubbock since July, and lived in Odessa a year prior to that. He formerly lived in Arkansas and Kansas.
Howe was champion grass grower in Kansas in 1946. He organized the first 4-H club in Douglas County, Kan., and was active in the 4-H organization many years.
Howe was a member of Presbyterian Church. Ho was employed by the Maintenance Dept., Texas Tech.
Survivors are his wife; a son. Robert Howe, Barnard, Kan and three daughters, Merlene, Martha, and Marla, all of the residence.

Funeral arrangements were pending at noon at Sanders Funeral Home.
