BETTENDORF - Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Teresa C. Callahan, of Bettendorf, and formerly a long time resident of Davenport, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2007, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will take place in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, with a prayer service offered at 4 p.m. Additional visitation will be held Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Mrs. Callahan died Saturday, December 1, 2007, at Genesis Medical Center, West Central Park, Davenport. Teresa Cecelia McNeilly was born January 15, 1923, in New York City, N.Y. She was one of three daughters born to Harry and Teresa McNeilly. She received a full academic scholarship to the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale, N.Y., where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics. Teresa married Edward Henry Callahan on September 4, 1948. They shared over 59 years of marriage together. She was a devoted wife and mother, raising their five daughters. Teresa was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church where she was also involved in the Altar and Rosary Society and the Prayer Line. She also volunteered at the Cinderella Cellar as well as the Kahl Home. Teresa enjoyed being involved with several bridge groups, luncheons with friends, spending time with her family and researching family genealogy. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church or Assumption High School. Teresa is survived by her husband, Edward Callahan, Davenport; five daughters, Terry (Steve) Wiese, Ada, Mich., Kathy Callahan, Davenport, Jeanne (Steve) Wanzek, Ames, Iowa, Lynn Callahan, Palatine, Ill., and Clare (Dave) Petersen, Chicago, Ill.; five grandchildren, Emily (Matt) Reinhart, Wonder Lake, Ill., Patrick Wiese, Chicago, Ill., Joe Wanzek, Mankato, Minn., Melanie Wanzek, Evanston, Ill.,and Rob Wanzek, St. Louis, Mo.; two great-grandchildren, Nathan and Cole Reinhart, Wonder Lake, Ill.; and sister, Agnes (Ralph) Rella, Little Neck, N.Y. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Dorothy (Elio) Del Favero.
