Much loved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, Laurvina Bernice Schendel (nee Liphardt), peacefully went to be with her Lord in her 97th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Allan Paul Schendel, her parents Oscar and Violet Liphardt, her sister Margaret, her loving daughter, Lynne and infant grandson Jeffrey.

A member of Redeemer Lutheran Church since her marriage to Allan Schendel in 1942 and from birth, a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Bernice was devoted to her faith. An avid bridge player, Bernice was a member of the Westmount Golf and Country Club for many years. Bernice loved family gatherings, the beach and long walks -- wonderful times in Southampton, Ontario and Marco Island, Florida are special memories of the family.
A celebration of Bernice's life will be held on Tuesday March 18, 2014, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 78 John Street West, Waterloo, at 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow at the Church.
