He was baptized at Christ Lutheran Church and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Carl attended schools at Christ Lutheran, St. John's Lutheran and Immanuel Lutheran. He worked on several farms before joining the US Army on December 28, 1948. Carl was medically discharged on March 24, 1949. He married Cordula (Corky) Loseke on June 26, 1949 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus.
Carl worked for Bob Aerni, Behlen Manufacturing and Henke Machine Shop for several years all while working the on the Loseke family farm. For several years, Carl and Corky ran the Johannes Feather Farm. Carl enjoyed doing small farm repair work and had his own shop on the farm. Carl was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where he was an usher. He loved to play cards and stop for coffee to visit with his friends.
