During the early part of the 20th century before moving to Knox Co., OH, Wilson lived in Monday Creek Twp., Perry Co., OH. His sister was Elvina (Boone) Mcartor, who's buried in the Whippstown Cemetery in Perry Co. Their parents were John & Violette (Vermillion) Boone, according to Elvina's 1938 death certificate. Wilson was m. at least twice.

The 1925 Polk Co., IA census for Wilson's daughter Verna B. Hanes lists Verna's mother as Losetta/Loretta Ogle. Verna was b. about 1874 OH. Verna m. Charles F. Hanes b. 1866 Canada in Chicago, Cook Co., IL in 1898 and they had children: Charles B. Hanes, Hazel Hanes and Thelma Hanes. Sometime before Thelna was born in 1903, Charles F. & Verna Hanes moved to Greene, Butler Co., IA where Charles died 20 Nov. 1907 and is buried in Greene. In 1930, the widowed Verna Hanes was living in York, DuPage Co., IL. A 1933 article about Wilson, referred to his daughter Verna as living in Elmhurst, DuPage Co., IL.

The 1900 Monday Creek Twp., Perry Co. census for Wilson S. Boone lists his wife as Catherine (Katherine G. Boone) and that they married in 1883.
