Anthony J. Colose, 75, of 109 W. First St., Clearfield, died Sunday, Jan. 13, in the Clearfield Hospital.
Born May 5, 1909, in Clearfield, he was the son of Nicholas and Joan (Rizzo) Colose.
He was a part of the family-operated Florida Fruit Market in Clearfield and was involved with theaters and drive-ins as operator, manager, booker and owner, including the Roxy and Ritz theaters in Clearfield, the State Theater in Osceola Mills and the Pershing Theater in DuBois. He previously owned the Curwensville Bowling Lanes and since 1958 was president of Clearfield Bowling Lanes until he retired as owner in 1984.
He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church of Clearfield and of Clearfield Council No. 409, Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Colose is survived by his wife, the former Anne Speranza; a daughter, Mrs. Joan Mona of Clearfield, and a
grandson, Anthony Mona; a brother, Joseph Colose of Clearfield, and three sisters: Mrs. Nick (Lena) Arico of Roaring Spring; Mrs. Frances Biviano of Clearfield and Ms. Theresa Colose of Bronx, N.Y.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Paul and Carmen, and a sister, Catherine.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Francis Catholic Church with interment in Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc. tomorrow from 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Vigil service will be held at 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
