Son of Peter (Pieter) Hendrik Houtsma and Gertie (Gatske) Alberts Maneveld Houtsma. Brother of Cornelis Pieters Houtsma (Cornelius, C.P.). Husband of Anna Wibben Houtsma.

ALBERT PIETERS HOUTSMA
Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at the First Christian Reformed Church for Albert P. Houtsma who died on Friday. Burial was in the Orange City cemetery. Officiating at the church was Rev. R. Bronkema and at the cemetery Rev. Schuurmann was in charge.
Mr. Houtsma was born February 20, 1871 at Pieters Bierum, Barradeel, Friesland, The Netherlands. He came to America May 16, 1888 and directly to Orange City where he made his home except for 15 years. He was married to Anna Wibben on January 5, 1898 by Rev. E. Breen, pastor of the First Christian Reformed Church.
Surviving are his wife and ten children: Peter of Ogilvie, Minn., Tillie (Mrs. Lou Vander Plaats) of Bijou, Minn., Gertrude at home, Cornie of Orange City, Nettie (Mrs. Henry Hielkema) of San Antonio,, Texas, Henriette (Mrs. James Jasper Jr.) of Orange City, Clara (Mrs. Peter Van Otterloo) of Grand Rapids, Mich., Tena, (Mrs. Gerrit Dolieslager) of Foreston, Minn., Marie (Mrs. J.C. McGowan) of Fort Worth, Texas, Anna (Mrs. Paul Schubert) of Grand Rapids, Mich. He also leaves one brother, C. P. Houtsma of Denver, Colo.
One son, Gerrit, preceded him in death.
