BLAKE, Katherine Marie
Born in Hastings, Nebraska on July 7, 1922 - the 8th of 11 children of Henry and Katherine (Trupp) Zeiler.
Died December 8, 2004 at the age of 82 after a brave and lengthy battle with emphysema and COPD.
Our mother was preceded in death by her husband, our father, Arthur, and daughter Mary Ann Guyton.
Her nursing career was interrupted by WWII when she went to work at Warren AFB in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
A visit to her sister in California resulted in her marriage to the brother of her sister's husband.
The remainder of her life was spent raising children and grandchildren. She also helped run a dairy farm in Escalon, California early in her marriage and was one of the few women you would see at that time operating a John Deere tractor.
She was a devoted and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was of a noble generation of hardworking, honest people of great integrity.
Her greatest joy and interest in life was always her family who will miss her more than words can say.
She is survived by her daughters Jeanie Surges of Martinez and Betty Eagle, San Diego, her son-in-law Harry Eagle, grandchildren Christi Bolling (Greg), Cathy and Bill Surges, Debbi Jones, Michael and James Eagle, Johanna Allen and Rebecca Phillips as well as five great-grandchildren, her brother Bill Zeiler of Omaha, Nebraska and sisters Virginia Turner of Hot Springs, North Carolina and Mary Phillips of Carlton, Oregon.
A private memorial will be held in Upper Lake, California where she will lie to rest forever with her beloved daughter, Mary Ann.
