Source: Death Notices, A Jacksonville Newspaper, ~February 6, 1940: "PRIVETT Mrs. Alice Mansell Privett, 61, of 745 Fernway, Norwood, died at her home Sunday morning following a long illness. Mrs. Privett had made Jacksonville her home for the past 42 years and had a host of friends who will regret to learn of her passing. She was born at Starke, Fla., and has lived in the state all her life. Mrs. Privett was a charter member of the Norwood Baptist church, Brentwood Chapter No. 183 Order of Eastern Star, and the Norwood Garden club. She was formerly a member of Jacksonville Chapter No. 15 O.E.S. leaving this chapter when Brentwood chapter was organized. Survivors are two daughters, Miss Mabel Privett, and Mrs. William Schroeder, four sons, Paul L., John C., Stewart L. and P. Dean, a grandson, William Schroeder, Jr., all of this city, three sisters, Mrs. R. C. McLeod, Tampa, Mrs. Frank Acheson and Mrs. A.S. Russell, St Augustine, a brother, S.B. Mansell, Jacksonville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:30p.m. Tuesday in Hardage and Wiliams' chapel with the Rev. Al.L. Turner, pastor of the Norwood Baptist church, officiating. Pallbearers will be, honorary, J.E. Pace, Robert Mills, O.Z. Tyler, H.W.Anderson, W.C. Almand, J.D. Kennedy, R.E. Wendt, S.B. Swearingen and G.L. Barnard. Active, John Overstreet, Earl Morgan, John H Peyton, Thomas L. Dean, Cyril Hayes, Shannon DeVaughn. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery."
