Shirley was a long time member of Waldron Assembly of God Church in Waldron, Arkansas.
Shirley was married to the love of her life, W.A. Burnett for 53 years. Shirley was a dedicated employee at the Waldron Nursing Home for 30 years. She enjoyed bluegrass music, singing and visiting with people. Most of all, Shirley loved and treasured her family and the time she had with each of them.
Shirley leaves behind to cherish her memory, three daughters: Diane Stokes and husband Ron of Waldron, Arkansas, Tressa Helton and husband Joe Jr. of Waldron, Arkansas, Cindy Shupert and husband Rocky of Fort Smith, Arkansas and four sons: Greg Burnett and wife Debra of Greenwood, Arkansas, Charlie Burnett and wife Kim of Waldron, Arkansas, Gary Burnett of Waldron, Arkansas and Jimmy Burnett of Oklahoma. Granny will forever be missed by her grandchildren: Bobby Brown, Brandon Brown, Buddy Joe Helton, William Helton, Erica Gabel, Tyler Burnett, Klayton Burnett, Kody Burnett, Karsen Burnett, Heather Baker, Gregory Vaughn, Nicholas Shupert. Shirley will be missed by all that knew her and the many whose lives were impacted by her including special nieces, Deena, Lori, April, and Lisa Wood and husband Robert and one great niece, Bethany Brigance, and nephews Keith and Jeffrey, along with a cousin, Perry Smith and wife Barbara of Texas as well as many extended family, friends and loved ones.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, W.A. Burnett, her parents, Denver and Mary Beshears.
Shirley's life celebration will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2014 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron, Arkansas with Rev. Mike Shaddon officiating. Interment will follow in the Duncan Cemetery in Waldron, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
Shirley's pallbearers will be grandsons.
Shirley's visitation will be Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
