Born February 6, 1925 in Bloomington, he was the son of Harry A. and Mary Ann (Empson) Crites.
He retired as a supervisor from C.S.X. Railroad, formerly the Monon and L&N Railroads. He had a "heart of gold" and was well respected by the people he worked with. He was also a very loving and devoted husband and father.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marie M. (Mullis) Crites, of Ellettsville, one son, Steven W. Crites, of Ellettsville; one daughter, Marian Elaine Crites, of Leige, Belgium; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Janice Crites, of Ellettsville and Harry David and Betty Crites, of Del Norte, Colorado; one sister, Virginia Henry, of Franklin, Indiana; two grandchildren, Nancy and Christopher; one great-granddaughter, Olivia and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Albert, Samuel, and Paul Crites, and two sisters, Pauline Wolf and Margaret Ann Farris.
There will no services or visitation. Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
