Mrs. Vesta F. Kerker, 85, of 709 Hayward since 1937 died at 1 p.m. yesterday in St. Francis Hospital, where she was admitted April 2.
A Peorian 68 years, she was born in Greenfield Sept. 16, 1896, a daughter of John H. and Emma Brooks Van Matre. She married Henry J. Kerker Nov. 1, 1916, in Pekin, and he died in Peoria March 26, 1953. One brother and one sister also preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Army Mothers Club, where she once served as president.
Surviving are one son, LeRoy H. of Peoria; three daughters, Mrs. George (Lois) Kirkpatrick and Mrs. Harold (Mary) Cady, both of Peoria, Mrs. Charles (Phyllis) Lester of Ballwin, Mo.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Glen (Martha) Parkhurst of Peoria.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Cumerford-Endsley Memorial Home, where visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
Dr. Lawrence Fairchild will officiate and burial will be in Parkview Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to PARC.
