Cause of death: massive heart attack

Christensen, Richard R.

Richard R. Christensen, age 60, Gillett, passed away at home unexpectedly on February 8, 2014. Richard was born March 30, 1953 in Oconto Falls to the late Clarence and Savalia (Moede) Christensen. Richard is a graduate of the Suring High School class of 1971. He married Ruth Block June 19, 1976 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Pulcifer. He was employed as a supervisor in various plywood plants for the past 42 years. Currently, Richard's place of employment was with Techniply in Oconto Falls. He also has served as President of the Frostville Cemetery Association for the past 17 years. His past time used to be bowling at the Gillett Legion Bowling Alley for 15 years. Richard enjoyed hunting especially since he could take his Grandson, Ben Bohm with him. Richard was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and loved spending time with his family. He is a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Suring.

Richard is survived by his wife, Ruth of Gillett; 3 daughters, Jackie Christensen, Nicole (Patrick) Bohm all of Oconto Falls, Cindy Christensen of Gillett; a brother, Dennis Christensen of Suring; two sisters, Marlene (Richard) Olson of Suring, Nancy (Leonard) Berg of Neenah; a sister-in-law, Leone Christensen of Gillett; a brother-in-law, John Dinse of King, Wisconsin; a grandson, Ben Bohm; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Richard was preceded in death by his brother Ralph Christensen, and a sister, Patsy Dinse.

Visitation will be held at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring on Monday, February 10, 2014 from 4-8 PM. Visitation continues at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Suring on Tuesday, from 9 am until the funeral ceremony at 11 am with Pastor Michael Paholke officiating. Burial in Frostville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Suring.
