OBITUARY Iron County (Michigan) Reporter Jan 10 2001 "Obituaries: Frank Myefski" with photo
CENTERVILLE, Ia.-Frank Myefski, 75, died Jan. 2 at the Mercy Medical Center.
He was born July 9, 1925 in Stambaugh to Cazimier and Felicia (Dzarnowski) Myefski. On Aug. 16, 1947 he married Beverly Vandenburg in Green Bay, Wis. She preceded him in death Jan. 2, 1987. On Oct. 26, 1988 he married Judith Wiles in Dubuque, Ia. He joined the Marines at age 17 and spent two years in the Pacific area in World War II. On returning from the service, he graduated from Stambaugh High School. He attended St. Norbert's College in DePere, Wis., then attended the University of Wisconsin at Green Bay and received a master's degree from KHU. He worked as a sales rep for National Steel, retiring in 1986. He lived in Wisconsin, Tennessee and North Carolina most of his life until moving to Centerville in 1998. He loved his grandchildren, Dolly and the Green Bay Packers. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Michael; grandson Andrew Epsen; two sisters, Bernice Bedwell and Ann Larkin; and four brothers, Alex, William, Charles and Joseph.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Christine (Gerry) Bertin of Fredonia, Wis., Karyn (Jeff) Peters of West Bend, Wis. and Margaret Myefski of Madison, Wis.; three stepchildren, Lisa (Joe) Morrison of Las Vegas, Nev., Anita (Jeff) Meinshausen of Elkhart Lake, Wis. and Matthew (Carrie) Waage of Racine, Wis.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sister Mary Augusta of Rosholt, Wis. and Barbara (Joe) Konopacke of Kingsford; two brothers, John (Joyce) of Iron River and Louis (Joan) of Marquette; and his special pet Dolly.
Visitation and memorial services were held Jan. 6 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville with the Rev. Joe Miller C.P.P.S. officiating.
Burial was in Oakland Cemetery in Centerville.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Mary's Church and may be mailed to the Schmidt Family Funeral Homes, 501 North 18th Street, Centerville, Ia. 52544.
