Mary Ruth Riley age 94, of Knoxville, passed away December 1, 2018, also her 72nd wedding anniversary, surrounded by her family. She was born October 21, 1924 in Dandridge, TN. She was a faithful member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by parents, Calloway and Flora Patterson McCammon and step- father Martin McCammon; husband of 72 years, Carroll Riley; son, Ed Riley; great- granddaughters, Paige Hillard and Hallie Sheddan; sisters, Leoda and Edith; brothers, George and Bill.
Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Charles Sheddan; grandchildren, Mari Beth Yates, Wesley (Tiffany) Sheddan; great-grandchildren, Austin (Kendra), Zoe, Madison, Aden and Braden whom she loved with all her heart; Sister, Doris (Harry David) Chance; many nieces and nephews and friends.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church on Ruggles Ferry Pike followed by a funeral service at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Chris Hutchins and Rev. Ronnie White officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church to go in procession for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service and interment at Eastview Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of Mary Riley to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 6915 Ruggles Ferry Pike, Knoxville, TN 37924.
