Death: Jun. 9, 1870

Victorian author whose works include several masterpieces including 'Oliver Twist', 'A Christmas Carol', 'A Tale of Two Cities' and 'The Pickwick Papers'. He died at Gads Hill Place, his home five miles from Rochester. His wish was to be buried in front of Rochester Cathedral but was buried in Westminster Abbey instead.
