One of Linton’s oldest residents, Mrs. Mary Susan HARDESTY, ninety-one, died at 1 o’clock Tuesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank CORBIN, at Linton.

Mrs. HARDESTY enjoyed good health up until she was stricken about three weeks ago. Her condition had been regarded as serious since that time due to her advanced age.

Born in the Koleen community in Greene County on November 28, 1844, she spent her entire life in this county. She resided in the vicinity of Koleen practically all her life, going to Linton four years ago to make her home with her daughter. Her husband died forty-five years ago.

Despite Mrs. HARDISTY’S age, she was active up to the time of her death. She maintained her vision and was able to read constantly. She had an unusual physique for a woman of her age.

Mrs. HARDISTY was a member of the Baptist Church of Koleen for more than three-quarters of a century, took active interest in the Koleen church up to the time she came to Linton.

She is survived by one son, Noah HARDESTY, of Koleen, and the daughter, Mrs. CORBIN, at whose home she died.

Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 o’clock Thursday afternoon at the Frank CORBIN residence in Linton with Rev. Harry J. BAILEY officiating. Interment was made in Fairview cemetery.
