She was born on March 16, 1918, in Henry County, Va. to the late William L. Manning and Minnie Gravely Manning of Leatherwood, Va.
She had been a resident of the Blue Ridge Manor in Martinsville, Va. since moving from Richmond, Va. in 2011. She was a graduate of Axton High School, class of 1935 and a graduate of Blackstone College, class of 1937. She worked for the U.S. Federal Attorney in Richmond, Va. until she retired in 1977.
She is survived by her nieces, Ora Merlow Donavant Luttrell of Martinsville, Va., Harriett Gallego of Orlando, Fla., and Patricia Pridgen of Wilson, N.C.; nephews, Freddie C. Donavant of Martinsville, Va. and Jerry C. Holley of Martinsville, Va.; her stepchildren, Vivian Seigel Rowsey of Glen Allen, Va., and Louis Seigel of Cumberland, Va. Private memorial services will be at the graveside at the Oakwood Cemetery in Richmond, Va.
