Merle S. Holling, 60, of Blair, died Monday, August 26, 2013, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.
Services will be 10 a.m.Thursday, August 29, at Arlington Community Church in Arlington. Visitation will be Wednesday with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Interment will be in the Arlington Cemetery.
Merle S. Holling was born November 20, 1952, in Omaha, to Gus and Rosemary "Bunny” (Purcell) Holling.
He grew up south of Bennington, and graduated from Omaha Burke High School in 1971. While he was in high school, he was president of his FFA chapter.
After high school, he farmed with his father and then later on his own, when he began his love of trucking.
On September 10, 1977, he married Judi Wesemann of Kennard.
After they were married, they made their home in Bennington and later moved to Arlington.
He enjoyed spending time outdoors with his family and friends.
Mr. Holling was a true “people person." He could talk to anyone and instantly make a new friend. He loved sharing stories and jokes with people. He was always very proud of his son, Matt, and loved spending time with him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gus; grandparents; one uncle and two aunts.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
