Tressie O. Strange, 77, Jefferson City, died Friday at Manor Care Center, Jefferson City. She was born Feb. 10, 1920, in Box, Okla., a daughter of Samuel R. Tannehill and Della Mae Steverson. She was married Sept. 30, 1939, in Boonville, to Clifford I. Strange.
A graduate of School of the Osage High School, she lived most of her life in Eldon but moved to Jefferson City in 1978. She was a homemaker and later worked for Wal-Mart in Eldon and Jefferson City, retiring in 1982. She was a charter member of Jefferson City Baptist Church, where she was active in the choir and with children.
Survivors include: four daughters, Jean Willburn, Fairfield, Calif., Mary Curtit, Jefferson City, Donna Badley, Guymon, Okla., and Linda Kemmer, Linn; four sons, Clifford Strange Jr., Eldon, Harold Strange, Fairfield, Dale Strange, Vacaville, Calif., and Gail Strange, Las Vegas; two sisters, Meryle Graham, Sedalia, and Mary Stith, Raytown; two brothers, Hank Tannehill, Eldon, and Leon Tannehill, Saudi Arabia; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two infant children, James L. Strange and Cecelia Strange.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bagnell Baptist Church. The Rev. C.D. Butler will officiate. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery, Kaiser.
