Beloved wife of Garry Aveyard of Balgonie, Sask. (formerly of Regina), passed into God's care at the age of 52 years, after a valiant battle with cancer. Predeceased by her father Loyd Tasker. Bev is survived by her husband of 34 years, Garry, sons Bill, Garry (Trina), daughter Candace and granddaughter Milan of Calgary, Alberta, mother Letitia (Elwin) Lainchbury of Lumby, B.C., sisters Darlene Tasker and Jeannie Kezama, and brother Frank Tasker of Alberta, as well as their children (Tiffany and Dustin) (Tamara, Cameron and Bryce) and (Colin) as well as a large extended family. Bev had worked for Extra Foods and O.K. Economy for 271/2 years and was counting the days to retirement when cancer struck. She was never able to return to her home after going into the Pasqua Hospital for a biopsy. She was transferred to the Palliative Care ward and remained there until her death. Bev counted every day as a blessing. All the visits, gifts, goodies, and support from family, friends and coworkers were greatly appreciated. A few of the special days Bev enjoyed and anticipated were the laying of flowers on her father's grave in November, a visit from Alan Cunningham (nephew from Yellowknife) and on December 8, having Rory Allen sing to her on his visit to the Palliative Care ward and return later with his wife to visit and autograph a picture for her. The family was blessed with Bev's company on Christmas Day, when she was able to leave the hospital for a few hours and have a Christmas dinner and gift opening at Garry and Trina's home in Regina. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel 2136 College Ave. Interment in Regina Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, family and friends so wishing may make donations, in memory of Bev, to the Palliative Care Unit, Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Ave. Regina, SK S4T 1A5. Arrangements in care of Speers Funeral Chapel and Crematorium Services. E-mail condolences to the family may be sent to [email protected]
