J.D. Bryant Rites Sunday

Funeral services for J.D. (Dock) Bryant, 69, who died in St. Paul Hospital, Dallas, Friday afternoon, will be held from the Corley Chapel Sunday at 4 p.m. Burial will be in the Hamilton cemetery.

The rites will be conducted by Rev. Harold Nichols of the Corbet Baptist Church.

Bryant, an employee of Wheelock and Collins, oil operators, for about 30 years, was critically injured last Saturday on Highway 287 at Sardis, northwest of Waxahachie, when his auto got out of control and overturned several times. He later was transferred to the Dallas hospital from the Waxahachie sanitarium. Bryant was alone at the time of the accident.

Surviving are his wife of Corsicana; a brother, Billy Bryant, Sour Lake; six sisters, Mrs. J. C. Hamm and Mrs. R. V. Wilcox, both of Temple; Mrs. D. F. Roman, Mrs. W. N. Slone, Mrs. Johnny Slone and Mrs. Mattie Bell, all of Corbet, and other relatives.

The Masons will have charge of the graveside rites and will provide pallbearers. Corsicana Daily Sun, April 25, 1953
