William Briant Morris died September 16, 1900. He was born October 8, 1823. He was the son of Harrison and Milly Morris and made profession of religion about the year 1842 or 43 and was baptized by the pastor, J. A. McGuire. Bro. Morris was married to Mary V. Straughn, December 28, 1847. Three children were the result of this marriage โ James Morris now living and two dead.
W. B. Morris and his wife were very industrious and frugal housekeepers and accumulated quite an estate. Some years after James was married to his first wife, the mother Mary V. Morris died, leaving the father all alone; James came to live with him and take care of him after he became helpless and almost blind. On March 6, 1877, Bro. Morris married to Mary E. Crawford who was an excellent Christian woman.
He was buried in the Sulphur Cemetery.
