Mr. Richard Michael "Mike" Godwin 60, of Bolton passed Monday, February 10, 2014 in Columbus Regional Healthcare. He was born in Mecklenburg County, NC the son of Mrs. Bobbie Lunsford Godwin of Bolton and the late E. Cecil Godwin.


Mike was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He served as a volunteer with the Bolton Fire Department. He was a member of Bolton Baptist Church.


He is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Godwin Malpass of Wilmington; a son, Richard Jason Godwin of Carolina Beach; his mother, Bobbie Godwin; four grandchildren, Meghan Jaye Godwin, Alta Mackenzie Thornton, Jada Ann Godwin, Cash Thomas Godwin; two sisters, Sherrie Russ and husband, Ronnie of Riegelwoood, Pamela Carroll of Hope Mills.

His funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, February 17, 2014 at Bolton Baptist Church by Rev. Sterling Sarvis. Burial will be in the Lake Waccamaw Hillcrest Cemetery.
