Wilbert Lewis Sharp Shinn was the first child of Charles Lippincott Shinn and Sarah B Alloway. He was born at Bordentown NJ on Sept 27, 1870. He grew up at Eayrestown. He had a limited schooling but was an avid reader of history, the Civil War, and Napoleon. He learned the trade of carpentering working for many years at Collins and Rogers in Moorestown. He took over his brother's business of plumbing and heating contractors at Princeton after the death of Elmer J. Shinn. He then moved from Masonville to Princeton. He was a member of the second Presbyterian Church. He was a 32nd degree Mason. He loved nature, trees and the home he purchased at Eayrestown. He died at Princeton on Jan 1, 1934 and is buried in Princeton Cemetery on Witherspoon Street.
He married (1) Clara M Ellis on June 5, 1897. She died less than a year later, and (2) Henrietta Cummings.
