John W. Martin, aged 53 years, died at his home in East Brainerd on Saturday last, Oct. 14, of tuberculosis, after an illness extending over a period of 20 months. Deceased leaves a wife and three children to mourn his death. Mr. Martin was an old and respected citizen having lived in Brainerd over seventeen years during the greater part of which time he was in the employ of the Northern Pacific company. He was a member of the A. O. U. W., G. A. R. and Improved Order of Red Men, and members of the above societies attended the funeral services which were held from the house on Tuesday afternoon, Rev. A. H. Carver officiating. Mrs. Anna Kelley, of St. Paul, O. Maben, of Lake City, and Jacob Maben, of Minneapolis, sister and brother of Mrs. Martin, were in the city in attendance at the funeral.
