Hugh Campbell Miller, one of the best known citizens of the southern part of Butler county, died at his home near Meharz [sic]. Born in Pittsburg [sic] 71 years ago, he came to Butler when a young man. He served in the Civil war, contracting rheumatism, from which he never recovered. He was well known in Republican circles and was an elder in the Middlesex Presbyterian church. His wife and a family survive him.
