Marion D. Minor, 79, St. Joseph, was called into glory February 6, 2014. He was born December 23, 1934, to the late Marion Hampton and Marcus Lajoie Minor, in St. Joseph.

Mr. Minor was a lifelong resident of St. Joseph, and a graduated from the former Bartlett High School. He retired from Missouri Energy after 25 years of service, 15 years with the U.S. Postal service and he also work at Moila Country Club and had owned a shoe shine business. He was a member of the Tes Trams Club, and played semi-pro baseball. Mr. Minor enjoyed fishing, coaching softball and spending time with his wonderful family.

In August 15, 1955, he married Etta Louise Moore and to this union was born seven daughters.

He was preceded in death by three daughters, Sheryl, Patricia, Nancy Carol; his parents; son, Dennis; brothers, Marcus Jr., Robert and Lorenzo Minor.

He leave to cherish his memory his wife of 58 years, Etta of the home; his daughters, Dabora Minor, St. Joseph; Linda Thomaston (Michael), Kansas City, Mo.; Elizabeth Elkins, (Charles), Kansas City; Lisa Perry, (Mario) McKinley, Texas; siblings, Sharon Babgy, Bryan, Texas; Steven Minor, Round Rock, Texas; John, Roger, Timothy, Anita Thornton, Betty Minor, Mary Carol, Vivian and Cynthia Minor, all of California; Marylin Goodwin, Lafayette, La.; ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews, and a special puppy, Sir Jordan.

A celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2014, New Hope Baptist Church.
