Waitman "Steve" Burdette of Sissonville passed away Feb. 8, 2014, with his son by his side, at CAMC Memorial Hospital.

Steve was the son of the late Edgar and Leatha Burdette. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Dora "Jeanne" Burdette, and his son, Travis Wayne Burdette. He was a member of the local Laborers Union No. 1353 and retired from RC General Contractors as a stone mason. He enjoyed going fishing and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Surviving are his son, Stephen Scott Burdette and his wife, Sara, of Sissonville; grandsons, Jared, Jacob and Jace Burdette of Sissonville; one sister, Vera Lou Taylor; and one brother, Cleon Burdette, all of Sissonville.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Harold Boggs officiating. Burial will follow in Burdette Cemetery, Tuppers Creek.

Friends may call at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
