JAMES E. TROUTMAN
James Edwin Troutman, 80, of 709 Hilltop Road, died Monday, July 4, 1994, in Virginia Beach General Hospital. He retired in 1961 after 24 years in the U.S. Navy as an aviation machinist's mate (jet engine), and served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1976 after six years as an aircraft mechanic at the Naval Operating Base in Norfolk. He was a Baptist. He was the loving husband of Victoria Tarbula Troutman, and is survived by two daughters, Barbara T. Longtin of Chesapeake and Faith P. Williams of Hastings, Mich.; two sons, James J. Troutman and Mark R. Troutman, both of Virginia Beach; one sister, Elizabeth Rimmer of Troutman, N.C.; two brothers, Charles Troutman of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Francis Troutman of Phoenix, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted Friday, July 8, at 2 p.m. in Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery, 2020 Laskin Road, Virginia Beach, by a Navy chaplain. Military honors will be accorded. The family will be at the Maestas Funeral Home, Baltic Avenue Chapel, Thursday night from 7:30 until 8:30 p.m. to receive friends. Memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 945, Virginia Beach, Va. 23451.
