David Brainard McClung, 85, of Lexington, died Tuesday, June 15, 1999 in the Shenandoah Valley Health Care Center, Buena Vista. Mr. McClung was born in Brownsburg on November 28, 1913, and was a son of the late Charles Sterrett and Anna Wilson McClung. He was a member of the Lexington Presbyterian Church, a charter member of both the Lexington Jaycees and the Lexington Lions Club, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd W. McClung, Lexington and Andrew A. McClung, Fairfield; two sisters, Katherine Smith, Christiansburg and Estaline Martin of Springfield. Mr. McClung was a photographer for 56 years at Andre Studio, doing college annual photography, weddings, athletic events, commercial and summer camps. He received the Virginia Professional Award in 1975, and the National Professional Photographer Award in 1976, and many blue and red ribbons on his photographs at state conventions. Mr. McClung is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Frances Taylor McClung, Lexington and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, June 18, 1999 from the Harrison Funeral Chapel with Dr. William Klein officiating, with burial to follow in the Stonewall Jackson Cemetery, Lexington. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Lexington Presbyterian Church or the Lexington Lions Club. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.
