JOHN EVAN EVANS
MAGNA -- John Evan Evans, 72, an oiler foreman for Kennecutt Copper Co., died Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in Magna hospital of a lingering illness.
A son of David and Susannah Watson Evans, he was born in Spanish Fork, Aug. 12, 1877, He married Eliza Markham in Provo September 13, 1904, and they resided in Spanish Fork prior to moving to Salt Lake County 37 years ago. Mrs. Evans died Oct. 25, 1948.
Mr. Evans was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Beulah E. Scott, Sandy; Mrs. Orvilla Johnson, Magna; Mrs. Donna Short and Mrs. Druella Romrell, Salt Lake City; a sister, Bette G. Gardner, Sacramento; a brother, George Evans, Spanish Fork and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. at 36 E. 7th South by Frank Peet, bishop. President L.D.S. Ward. Friends may call at place of funeral until time of service. Burial will be in Spanish Fork Cemetery.
