Darwin Teilhet


Darwin Teilhet, author and former advertising executive, died early yesterday at Palo Alto-Stanford Hospital. He was 59.


He was creator of the mystery fiction character, "Baron von Kaz" and had more than a score of books published, primarily in the mystery field.


The author frequently collaborated with his wife, Hildegarde Tolman Teilhet, daughter of the late Professor Cyrus Fisher Tolman Jr. of Stanford University.


He had resided at 14141 Mirada Ave. since 1940.


In addition to his wife, Mr. Teilhet is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Marta Holen of Los Angeles; Mrs. Saral Waldorf of Washington, D.C.; and Miss Jehanne Hildegarde Teilhet, a student at the University of California at Los Angeles; a brother, John, of Santa Barbara, and a sister, Mrs. Alice Ott of Rutgers, N.J.
