RELATIVES ATTEND FUNERAL OF FORMER FONTANELLE MAN

Relatives here attended the funeral services of Albert Ruwe, Monday at Lattin-Dugan-Chambers Chapel in Fremont, with the Rev. William Simmer of First Methodist church officiating. Mr. Ruwe was born April 22, 1881 at Fontanelle and died Friday at Fremont.

Pallbearers were Dr. John McGreer, William Blatter, Joe and Ronald Kraci, Warren Brugh and Clarence Dahl. Hooper Masonic Lodge No. 72 AF and AM conducted the Masonic graveside services. Mr. Ruwe was buried in Ridge cemetery. Survivors include a granddaughter, Mrs. Gary (Beatrice) Palmer; a brother, Edward and a sister, Mrs. Lean Monke.

Biographical Information

Albert John Ruwe was the son of William and Christina Ruwe. William, Christina, and family were residing in Fontanelle, Washington in 1880. By 1900, the family had relocated to Platte Township Ames village, Dodge, Nebraska. In 1910, the family was residing in Fremont, Dodge, Nebraska.

According to the 1900 census, Albert's mother, Christina was the mother of 11 children at that time, one of whom was deceased. Details surrounding Albert's parents, as well as his brothers and sisters who are currently known to me is as follows:

Father, William Ruwe, b ca 1835 (Feb 1834 in 1900) in Germany. Immigrated in 1856; married in 1858 per 1900 census. Parents born in Germany.

Mother, Christena (1880) / Christina (1900) Ruwe, b ca 1841-42 in Germany (Jun 1842 per 1900 census). Immigrated ca 1850. Parents born in Germany.

She and Henry (b ca 1877 in IL) were residing in Pasadena, Los Angeles, California with their two children; Bernard R, b ca 1910 in Nebraska, and Carl H, b ca 1913 in Nebraska. Still residing in Pasadena in 1930, and still listed as married, though Henry does not appear on the census. Her two sons still living at home.
