Mrs. Holland L. (Alma) Bennett of 48 1/2 N. Harlem Ave., a 54-year member of Order of Eastern Star, died Thursday night at Freeport Memorial Hospital.
A past worthy matron of OES, she was also a member and past president of Commandery Auxiliary and a member of White Shrine. She was a member of Embury United Methodist Church and Freeport Woman's Club.
Born Sept. 4, 1888, at Scioto Mills, she was the daughter of Fred and Lena (Blatteau) Zimmerman. She was married to Holland L. Bennett in 1907. He died in 1962.
Surviving are a son, Donald C. of Freeport; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A son and a sister also preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. The Rev. William Blomberg, pastor of Embury UM Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 tonight at the funeral home, where a memorial service will be conducted at 7:30 by OES. A memorial fund has been established for a scholarship fund.
