LATROBE, Pa. - Carol J. Adamson, 57, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2007, in Latrobe Area Hospital, Latrobe, Pa., after a short illness, with her family at her side.
Carol was born Aug. 30, 1949, in Marion, Ind., to the late Milford O. and Margaret L. Buroker.
A 1967 graduate of Oak Hill High School, she went on to Indiana University and Ball State University, earning her bachelor's degree and completing a master's in elementary education. She was retired from the Franklin County school district in Indiana and from Hillsboro County schools in Florida after a long teaching career. Prior to moving to Pennsylvania, Carol was a member of Sweetser United Methodist Church. She was an avid Indiana basketball fan and enjoyed quilting and reading and loved spending time reading with her grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Angela (Adamson) and Neil Apple of Latrobe; a sister, Ann Smith of Latrobe; a brother, Joe Buroker of Wabash, Ind.; a niece, Sandy Smith of Latrobe; two grandsons, Seth and Ethan Apple of Latrobe; and a great-nephew Evan Holbrook. She will be remembered fondly by her extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by grandparents, Cesta and Oral Hobbs and Florence Batton.
Memorial services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Needham-Storey-Wampner, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, Ind. Friends and family will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with memorial services immediately following.
