Mrs. Mary Lou Monroe, 80, 906 Central Avenue, died at a local hospital Wednesday at 7:40 a.m. after a short illness. Survivors, daughters, Mrs. Robert Edwards, Mrs. Cullen Black, Mrs. W.C. Black, and Mrs. Ed Usery all of Gadsden, Mrs. A.J. Locklear, Dallas, Texas, Mrs. J.C. Boggs, Tuscaloosa; brothers, Bob, George, Jon, Jim and A.A. Ramsey all of Gadsden, sisters, Mrs. A.L. Morgan, Gadsden and 24 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren. Service Friday 2 p.m. Collier-Butler Chapel with Rev. Ruben Barksdale and Herbert Davis officiating. Burial in Shiloh Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Monroe was a native and lifelong resident of Etowah County, member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
