Obituary:Edward J. Swald, 87, of Rome, died March 11, 2008 in Bethany Gardens after a long illness. He was born January 26, 1921, in Utica, the son of Alfred Swald. He was a graduate of Utica High School.
He worked for Coleman Brothers in Rome for several years.
Ed served in the US Air Corps during World War II. He was also a member of St. Peter's Church.
He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Lana and Louis Eddy; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Christine Swald, Syracuse; a step-daughter, Debbie Eastmen, Canastota; a special friend, Janet Denio, Connecticut; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ed was predeceased by three wives, Marian, Gladys and Irma.
A Mass of the Christian Burial will take place on Friday at 1:30pm at St. Peter's Church. Interment will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
