BIOGRAPHY: Father of Johnnie Walters-Alvey O. Walters was born on October 29, 1904 near Seiling, OK. He married Marie Opal Ames* at Taloga, OK on Nov 14, 1933. Together they had 4 boys and 1 girl..

Alvey was a farmer all of his life, and that was the main interest, along with his wife and children. He farmed the same section of land in area near old townsite of Fonda, Ok, until his death on May 4, 1981. He was not interested in changing his farming methods..

He was a member pf the School Board for Fonda school, when it was in existence..

He was a hard worker, although slightly limited by what he could do as a result of poorly healed burn scars suffered when he was a young child. The burns were caused when he was playing with matches..

A family legend also relates a time when he was about 35 years old he joined a group of kids taking an outhouse from a property and dumping it into a ditch. Alvey used his pickup to move the outhouse. On the way to the dump site he was met by the owner of the outhouse and they stopped and talked for awhile. The owner thought that Alvey had a load of lumber in the pickup and never knew it was his outhouse..

He was heavy smoker and died of Heart Failure on afternoon. He is buried at Fountain Cemetery near Canton, Ok..

*Brothers Alvey and Gwen Walters married Ames sisters Marie Opal and Hazel Lenora, thus establishing direct and COLLARY relationships of their children..
