Funeral services for Leona B. McMillian, 79, of Merryville will be Saturday, Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder.

Elder Linwood Jacobs and Father Danny Torres will officiate.

Burial will follow in Cooper Cemetery in DeRidder, under the direction of Myers Colonial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 13 from 5-10 p.m. at Myers Colonial Funeral Home and will resume Saturday, Feb. 14 from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service.

She died Wednesday, Feb. 11 in DeRidder. She was a native of Hagerman, New Mexico, and had lived in the Merryville area since 1937. She was married for 61 years to Ray McMillian. She retired in 1990 after 27 years with the Beauregard Parish School System where she was a librarian, teacher and media source coordinator. She died at home with grace and dignity, surrounded by loving family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, F.M. and Ruth Beeman; sisters, Lucille Pilley, Ocie Smith and Dorothy Broxson; brothers, George and Willard Beeman.

Survivors include husband, Ray McMillian of Merryville; one son, John Paul McMillian Sr. of Merryville; three daughters, Mildred Jones of Baton Rouge, Mary LeDoux of DeRidder and Kathy Hamous of DeRidder; seven grandchildren, John McMillian Jr., Jesse McMillian, James McMillian, Jerry McMillian, Jeffery McMillian, Dana LeDoux and Cordelia Peevy; 22 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
