She was the daughter of Major & Mrs. Charles Muecke (Mother's maiden name: Florence Isabella Adams). She had a twin sister, Florence Muecke Knight; also sister Helen; and sister Ysabel Muecke Starling.
Marie married Roy Lindsay Bowlin on 21 April 1917 at the Hotel Astor in New York.
Marie L. Bowlin, who during WWII was Rochester NY area President of the Air Force Mothers, an organization of women with sons in the Army/Air Force. The organization did volunteer work for the American Red Cross and made bandages, bath robes, slippers and other items to aid servicemen. Marie Bowlin was formerly active in the Gold Star Mothers of Rochester, an organization of women who had lost sons in the war. Charles Bowlin, one of her five sons who served in WWII, was killed in a plane crash in 1947 at the age of 26.
Marie Bowlin and Roy L. Bowlin moved to West Palm Beach, Florida, after he retired in 1956.
