Civil War Union Soldier. He was mustered in as a Private in Company C, 3rd New Jersey Volunteer Infantry on May 25, 1861. He served until he was wounded in action, and was discharged for disability at the Regimental Camp near White Oak Church, Virginia on April 19, 1863.
