Julia Ann Ament was the fifth of thirteen children of John Lawson Ament & Sarah Ann Hodge.

At the age of eighteen Julia Ann was already a Teacher.

Julia Ann married Oscar Knox, son of William Knox & Mary Mercer, 25 December 1867, in Princeton, Bureau, Illinois. Julia Ann's sister, Nancy Hodge Ament married Oscar's brother, Aaron Joseph Knox.

Together they had two daughters, Winnifred Clay Knox (Grout) & Minna who died as a child.

Julia Ann made the move with husband Oscar Knox from Illinois, to Iowa, and Seattle Washington, where husband ran Grocery Store.

A few years after her daughter Winnifred Clay married, they moved to Wenatchee, Chelan, Washington, where husband started a Fruit Farm.

Julia Ann died in Chelan Co., Washington, from Gallstones.
