Miss Elinor Howell Thurman was born on January 6, 1937, the daughter of William Barnes Thurman (1891-1967) and Hazel (Howell) Thurman (1907-1972).
A graduate of Clarksville High School and Austin Peay State University, she worked for many years at the APSU library.
She loved her cats, her books, her garden, her needlework, and the study of genealogy. She was a member of the Plantagenet Society; Magna Charta Dames; Meriwether Society; Colonial Order of the Crown; and numerous other historical societies.
Elinor passed away on January 18, 2014 at Saint Thomas Hospital West after a brief illness.
Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
