Silent Screen American Actress. Her career ran only from 1917 until 1925 and during that time she appeared in 21 films Born Lucille O'Hair. her parents were farmers. She had aspirations of becoming an actress as she was growing up. She trained at Kings School of Oratory, Elocution and Dramatic Culture in Pittsburg, Illinois and iIn 1917 she traveled to New York to take a Vitagraph screen test that had been set up by a family friend and performed well enough to be cast in two-reel "O Henry" features. Among her film appearances include "Blind Man's Holiday" (1917), "Daring Hearts" (1919), "The Darkest Hour" (1919), "Too Many Crooks" (1919), "The Birth of a Soul" (1920), "Black Beauty" (1921), "The Prodigal Judge" (1922), and "Captain Blood" (1924), her final film appearance. She died at the age of 95. She was married to the co-founder and then-president of Vitagraph, Albert E. Smith.
